What’s the Problem?
How might we help reduce cluttered closets in adults caused by the accumulation of unwanted garments held onto for sentimental reasons?
My Strategic Approach
Conducted comprehensive research to understand the problem space and evaluated existing solutions. Developed a strategic plan to design and implement a user-friendly upcycling platform. Ensured the design adhered to WCAG 2.1 standards and focused on market gaps and user needs.
The Solution
I built a web app that connects buyers with artisans to upcycle clothing, reducing waste. The platform generates revenue through advertising, commissions, and third-party cross-selling.
How I Validated the Market
Usability, viability, feasibility, and desirability tests were conducted. I encountered unexpected outcomes, such as receiving direct user engagement from an unexpected channel instead of sign-ups from ads. This highlighted user interest and engagement in a different form, confirming the market potential.
Final Thoughts
The tests validated the market viability and strong potential for upcycling and sustainable fashion. The project demonstrated significant interest and accessibility, reinforcing the solution’s effectiveness.
This is a brief overview. I can discuss the project and my findings in more detail during an interview. Feel free to reach out!
